Oh, those wacky politicians!

All right, I admit it, this clip is a little crude. But it wasn't written by comedians but elected US officials. As you have probably noticed there has been a string of sex-related scandals perpetrated by US politicians going back a couple of years. Ironically, most of these inappropriate acts were committed by Republicans who claimed to be "good Christians" and that they stood up for morality.

For example, Mark Foley, the congressman mentioned in this clip was on the Committee for Missing and Exploited Children as he sent lewd emails to teenage male pages. The other politician mentioned, Gov. Sanford, was highly critical of President Clinton when he was busted for his random acts of immoral behaviors yet Gov. Sanford had a full-fledged affair. Or, back in my old state of Nevada Sen. Ensign criticized Sen. Craig for trying to engage in sex with another man at an airport but was secretly beginning an affair at the exact same time. I guess for Sen. Ensign adultery is OK as long as it is hetero.

But check out this clip by talk show host Bill Maher, it'll make you laugh even if your embarrassed to admit it. One last thing, Maher is a true libertarian and mentioned that it isn't right for us to even have access to someone else's email, even a politician's email. What do you think, is it OK to have access to a politician's emails? What if they were writing these emails on government equipment or government email accounts, should the people have access then?

...I'm sorry, I need a clarification that has nothing to do with your topic. Are you saying that 'random acts of immoral behaviors' do not qualify as a 'full-fledged affair'? Would you then, perhaps, qualify them as even light to medium infidelity?

Yeah, what Kira said. Because I'm certain Mrs. Sanford view his 'random acts of immoral behaviors' as a full fledged affair.

I actually didn't laugh, not even internally. I just hope you realize that not just conservative politicians are wacky, but liberal ones too. I don't think it's a "conservative" thing to be wacky, but a "politician" thing.
