The Stars at Night are Big and Bright...(clap, clap, clap)...Deep in the Heart of Texas

Sorry these pictures are not in order, but I have been fighting with my laptop all night. Anyway here are some pictures of our (driving) trip to Texas....who hoo!

1500 miles+3 days of driving-$$$=Our Trip to Texas
Well Dan and I made it to Texas on the 28th of December. It has been really surreal that I am about to leave Dan behind for the next few months, and embark on an educational journey that hopefully change our lives forever. It is really scary to think that in one year we will have a house, I will be in my third trimester of school and we could possibly have a baby at that time too. I have a feeling that this year is going to be a big one. We are excited!

Merry Christmas Family Photos

Well you wouldn't believe how much effort it takes to get a good family picture around here. Between two huge dogs, a cat, and not to mention Daniel...it's hard work. So here is our best shot (and for our adventures see the slide show below.)

Feed My Sheep

This was given to the Primary Presidencies in our Stake...I just loved it and thought I would share:
"Feed My Sheep"
'The Echo,' C.C. Miller, quoted in Hugh B. Brown, The Abundant Life [1965].

Twas a sheep not a lamb that strayed away
In the parable Jesus told,
A grown-up sheep that strayed away
From the ninety and nine in the fold.

And why for the sheep should we seek
And earnestly hope and pray?
Because there is danger when sheep go wrong;
They lead the lambs astray.

Lambs will follow the sheep, you know,
Wherever the sheep may stray.
When sheep go wrong, it won't take long
Till the lambs are as wrong as they.

And so with the sheep we earnestly plead
For the sake of the lambs today,
For when sheep are lost, what a terrible cost
The lambs will have to pay!

Heidi Wonka,Heidi Wonka: The Amazing Chocolatier

This was my first time making my Grandma Williams' Famous Christmas Chocolates. My sister Rachel and I spent a Saturday making fudge and mint chocolates with our Grandma. We had so much fun, and Grandma said you could get a "cheap drunk" off the mint-it was that good. Grandma was a little worried about Rachel-but we all pulled through. We almost lost a batch of the mint, but Grandma hasn't lost a batch in the 40 years she has been making chocolates-and she wasn't about to lose a batch this year either. I made milk chocolate fudge with white chocolate drizzle, milk chocolate mint with green (white) chocolate drizzle, white chocolate fudge with milk chocolate drizzle, dark chocolate mint with red (white) chocolate drizzle, dark chocolate fudge with nuts, and dark chocolate with fudge and marshmallows!!! I was dipping chocolate for over two hours! Now the final test-can I make caramel turtles without Grandma's help?

The Phantom of the Opera

Dan and Heidi went to the Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing! But to be honest we kept singing the only three words of the songs we knew-and that got old fast.

"The Phantom of the Opera is here inside my mind..."

Our Trip To Florida

Our trip to Florida
Dan and Heidi enjoyed a week long vacation in West Florida in mid November 2007. Oh what fun we had! We spent time in the city, by the bays, at the beaches and had a little fun chasing wild pigs in the Florida "jungle." Of course nothing could compare to the two dolphins and dozens of manatees that we saw. Florida has great wild life!

ARE WE THERE YET? De Soto and his men traveled along the coast of Florida for four years in search of gold-never to find it! What a Shame! These are heavy metal helmets they wore.

Andrew, Heidi and Dan at the manatee viewing center-we saw dozens of manatees. Once the water gets colder there can be up to 300 seen here.

Heidi, Ron, Crystal and Andrew at The St. Petersburg Pier. Look closely you can see dolphins in the water.

Did I mention I like animals? Well NOT Snakes! It's tail is slowly crawling up my back while this picture is being taken....save me!

The Animal House

It's not every day that you fall in love with a dog...ok, well maybe for me it is. But a cat! I never wanted a cat-I'm a dog lady. But now I have a stupid cat, and so I am crazy...a crazy animal lady. But this is it-no more! I am putting my foot down. It's time we grew up and had some two legged children already!
This is Bentley. We got him by surprise, like a lot of first time parents. He is very smart, and VERY stubborn. He is a mama's boy who loves the outdoors, but hates water. His favorite place in the world is the Dog Park.

This is Myla. She is our cuddle buddy. She loves people and is happiest when we are all home. She also loves her big brother Bentley. Her favorite toy is a yellow monkey named Dizzy.

O.K. by this time you are surely thinking "this girl is nuts!" But hold your phone calls to the asylum, let me introduce the third member of our family.

This is June (Buggy). She is a sweet cat, who loves the dogs. She can be nuts at times, and enjoys climbing my curtains!

A Year (or Two) in Review

Dan and Heidi in Cape Cod
As a member of Team Shelton you are required to do two things:
1) Put up with other members of the team (mostly Dan)
2) Be willing to travel, when ever- where ever.

With that said in the six years, 3 months and 11 days that Team Shelton has existed we have managed to go to so many places and see so many things. We just love to travel and see the wonderful world that God has given us. Here are some of the places we have been:

California (San Diego, L.A., Burbank, Beverly Hills, Valencia, Death Valley)
Mexico (O.k. it was just Tijuana...but it's still Mexico)
Utah (yeah!?)
Idaho (see Utah)
Colorado (for our honeymoon-oo la la)
Texas (woo-hoo)
Arizona
Florida (Orlando, Miami, Tampa Bay, Everglades and Bradenton)
Bahamas
Dominican Republic and Montreal (Just Dan..booo)
Louisiana (New Orleans and Baton Rouge)
Baltimore (Lived there...done that)
Nauvoo and Carthage
Gettysburg
NY, New York and Conney Island
Atlantic City
Annapolis
D.C.
Massachusetts (Boston, Plymouth, Salem and Cape Cod)
New Hampshire
Vermont
Maine
Quito and Cuenca Ecuador
Nevada (not to exclude Ely, Elko, Caliente and Las Vegas!)

We have also driven crossed country twice, and are hoping to go to Ukraine in two years. With that said, we don't have much in our bank account, but we have a lot of memories...and that is worth all the money in the world. So here are a few pictures...enjoy!

This is Dan at Gettysburg in 2002. He's a history buff, so he liked the big cannon.
This is Heidi in Louisiana in 2003-by a REALLY big alligator!
