Oh, this is just annoying!

Every morning the Secretary of Defense brings a daily report to the President of the United States of America entitled the "Worldwide Intelligence Update." During 2003 this important post was occupied by the less-than-stellar Donald Rumsfeld. Above is a picture of him shaking hands with Saddam Hussein...yep, in the good old days we loved doing business with the late Saddam Hussein. Of course this photo also goes to show no matter what stupid mistakes we make early in our career we can always bounce back to lead the greatest military in the world.

Anyway, back to the "Worldwide Intelligence Update." Numerous of these briefings during 2003 were accompanied with a face sheet adorned with color photos taken in Iraq. But here is the best part, these images were accompanied by a verse from the Holy Bible! Yep, verses from the Holy Bible were on the cover of the Secretary of Defense's daily report to the US President, leader of the free world and Commander in Chief of the US military. Is that messed up or what?!

This story was recently broke by GQ and here is a link to see the images for yourself:

Please, check them out, there are only ten images or so and I'd love to hear what you think or if you feel this was an appropriate move by the Department of Defense but was also approved by President Bush. You see, this is a big reason I have returned to the service and accepted a commission to become a US Army Chaplain. I'm sick of hearing about this stuff, God loves all his children and to imply one is favored over another post-Old Testament is just sick. He loves us all folks, and it is not our job to suggest otherwise.

My blood boils when I think of these jerk-offs hijacking our religions for their own personal and professional gratification. I'm sure Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, greatly appreciated these men inflating their own self-esteems by implying they are fulfilling God's divine plan. Apparently these men from the Bush administration never heard something Abraham Lincoln said on a number of occasions: "We should never pray that God is on our side, but we should pray that we are on His."

Interesting. Putting the quote from Abraham Lincoln with the pictures puts it in an entirely different perspective.
