Two years ago today I walked out of the hospital as a free woman. Never to set foot again in the oncology unit....as a patient that is. There was freedom from cancer too. The last day of chemo was the first day of my cancer free life. For those of you who forgot let me give you an update:

My Tumor December 2004
First I found this small and barely noticeable tumor

Summer 2005
Then I lost all my hair and got very, very sick...
that's 42 weeks of chemo for you.
Christmas 2005
Of course I have the BEST husband in the world who babied me the whole time. (I mean look how happy he is!)
Two years have gone by so fast. The year I was sick was never ending, maybe that's why the time now seems accelerated. But I am grateful for every healthy moment I have. Cancer has completely changed me-though I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks to cancer I lead, and will always lead, a very untypical life.
My cancer advice for 2008:
1. Have and keep health insurance
2. Live an illness preventative life (i.e. Live Healthy!)
3. Get regular physicals1. Have and keep health insurance
2. Live an illness preventative life (i.e. Live Healthy!)
4. Trust your instincts
5. Don't get cancer
5. Don't get cancer

Ewing's Sarcoma Stats:150 people are diagnosed each year, most are children
2/3 will survive longer than 5 years
More than 80% are white
The only known cause is a chromosomal abnormality
It is very rare

Happy anniversary! You're an inspiration to me, and you give me hope for cancer patients everywhere.
I hope to follow your advice for 2008. Maybe I should follow your advice forever.
So does it feel like it's been a long 2 years or 2 short ones?
Keep healthy!
2 short ones...the year I was sick was never ending. Now time just flies by.
