Glee...I just don't get it.

In one episode of Community Joel McHale's character becomes upset about a recent breakup with his girlfriend and begins crying and holding a friend. As he does this he blurts out "She made me watch Glee...I just don't get that show!" How true. Granted I've never seen more than a few minutes but I don't get that show either! I mean come on, no high school is like that and the music? Please, it's cheesy and they take good songs and make them dorky.

If you don't believe me then believe some of my favorite musicians. A few months ago Glee asked to use music by the Foo Fighters to which Dave Grohl responded, "It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do 'Glee,' and then the guy who created 'Glee' is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his show...@#$% that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do 'Glee.'"

Or how about Slash's response when Glee wanted to perform Guns n' Roses? As Grohl continued to explain, "The 'Glee' guy, what a jerk...He wanted to do Guns n’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate musicals. It’s worse than 'Grease.'’ Then [Murphy - the creator of Glee was] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed up ol’ rock star, that’s what they do."

Before Kings of Leon became the recent train wreck they are today they also declined Glee as well and the creator of Glee called them "snotty little @#$%."

I really love music and I feel my interests are pretty broad but come on, this isn't music. It's just a bunch of mediocre actors pretending to be musicians. What can I say, I really don't like Glee, or in the words of Joel McHale, "I just don't get it!"

And to hit my point home just check out this photo:

A photo is worth a 1000 words, eh?

Jason, as himself said...

Oh, it's just for fun! People who don't like it just don't have a very good sense of fun.

So there.

I watched a few episodes the first season (I explain below), and Paul used that line from Community every time I talked about it (we LOVE Community...so I think once again, I have a huge respect for your choice in television entertainment).

As for GLEE. It is a complete trainwreck. Everything about it is so horrible, corny, impossible, implausible, and ridiculous that it sucks people in...and you can't look away, even though, as Nick says in The Great Gatsby, it "represents everything for which I have an uneffected scorn."
