Is it time to run from my church?

Recently I took the advice of infotainer Glenn Beck. I don't know why, I don't really like him. He is an uneducated loudmouth who makes money - and lots of it - by scaring the bajeezers out of people. Anyway, last week he said on his show:

"Look for the words social justice and economic justice on your church web pages and if you find it run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice are code words for Nazis and Communists."

He later added:

"Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!"

Whew...sounds serious. So that is exactly what I did. Now Mormons don't really use the phrase "social justice," it's more of a Catholic phrase. We use the phrase "social welfare." I typed the words in LDS.org and found among other articles:

"As the father of the ward, the bishop has the responsibility of caring for the spiritual, temporal, and social welfare of his ward members." Q&A

"What is the relationship between this concept of growth and service and other programs of social welfare? The needy participate in other blessings of the Church; they should also participate in welfare because they have kept the commandments of the Lord, participated in the fast offering program, and have given and are willing now to serve in the welfare plan." I also searched for "society justice" and found these articles:

"The important human attributes needed for this new nation to really become a cooperating and workable republic of separate states would be manifested by a people who demonstrated by their lives a belief and desire to live in a society of justice for all mankind." Haight

"Why was there so much inequality in society? Not only have I learned how the gospel of Jesus Christ can create justice in society, I have also learned that we can progress to become like God and live forever with those we love." Chaichana

When I looked up "economic justice" in my church's search engine I found this:

"It is unfortunate that it is taking so long to bring full economic justice to women. The feminization of poverty is both real and tragic...The struggle to improve the place of women in society has been a noble cause, and I sincerely hope the day will come when women with equal skills will be fully equal with men in the marketplace." Faust

Well, according to Beck I should be running from my church as fast as I can. But I won't...I kind of like being a Mormon. Besides, isn't the goal of every church social and economic justice? I mean read the New Testament, clearly Jesus and his disciples were not big fans of social and economic inequality.

I'd hate to see the church Mr. Beck attends, they must be one cruel, heartless, and uncaring bunch of people as eager to make money through fear as he does. Anybody know what church he belongs to anyway?
