And The Truth Shall Set Me Free

O.K it's been long enough. I just need to say this once and for all and get it all off my chest. O.K. here it goes:
.
.
.
.
.
.
I don't like The Office that much anymore.

I used to, I promise. Just like everyone else I'd eagerly wait for Thursday night to come along. I would laugh all week about the last week's episode. Then a show came along that would change my life forever.

And now I'm in love with 30 Rock.

For that matter, let me clear the air on a few things.

I'll admit it. I don't really care for Saved By the Bell.

What? How dare I? I know, an American classic. I just prefer 90210.

90210 is just so much more realistic than Saved By the Bell, maybe that's why I like it-I can relate. (I kind of look like Kelly right? RIGHT?!)

Of course there was The Cosby Show-again an American classic.

Sorry folks I just liked The Fresh Prince of Bel-air so much more.

Maybe it's because the Huxtables were an East Coast family and I was used to the California life style of the Banks. Regardless I side with the Fresh Prince.

Then there was the smash hit Friends.

Honestly do any of you have a group of friends that is that good looking, that wealthy, and that funny? Not me. Maybe I'm not NY material or maybe I just relate to the clumsiness and awkwardness of Jerry, Elaine, George and Cramer.

And of course no TV experience would be complete without reality. I just don't understand how people can watch and enjoy Big Brother, Top Model, The Bachelor or dare I say it American Idol .

At least I watch a reality show that is worth watching.

I'm sure I've made a few enemies. But at least now I have a clear conscience. I'm goin' sleep well tonight (oh, wait no I won't I have a three month old!)

P.S. If you're not into 30 Rock maybe these clips will change your mind.

I can't choose between any of those shows so definitively- each one of them speaks to different times and places in my life. Except Friends, I hate that show. And anything reality. No love for those.

As for the office not being funny anymore, it's debatable. Remember this one from a few weeks ago:

Michael: It's not my fault you bought Pam a house to impress her. That is what carnations are for.

That's still pretty funny.

FOR CLARIFICATION:
It's not that I don't think the Office is funny...it's just not as funny as 30 Rock. I still enjoy the Office, but it doesn't give me the warm fuzzies it used to.

I agree with you on all but two accounts. I use to love Saved by the Bell. Of course 90210 was banned from my house growing up, so never seen an episode. And I have never seen 30 Rock. Have you seen Chuck? Greg and I laugh out loud.

I agree with most of those except saved by the bell of course. I love the office too, but 30 Rock is ridiculous funny. We still find ourselves quoting arrested development frequently.

I have LOVED 30 Rock since season 1 and have prayed for it's continued success.

I like just about all the shows you like (you have good taste), but I'm not sure your comparisons are fair. The shows are so different, like SBTB is a tween comedy, whereas 90210 is a teen drama.

Jason, as himself said...

Oh, I am soooooo into 30 Rock! Did you see the Generalissimo episode? I thought I was going to die of laughter.

I was never into The Office. Ever. I KNOW, I KNOW.

And can I just say that it cracks me up that Kira prays for the success of 30 Rock? That girl has her priorities STRAIGHT!

Maybe I should have prayed for the success of Pushing Daisies, rest its soul.
