I don't know what everyone's problem is.
Heaven forbid a BLACK DEMOCRAT is our new president. I'm excited, I am ready for a change in the right direction. I'm just sick of hearing people [ie. those that voted Republican] complain, saying how sad and depressed they are, and how they are so scared at where our Nation is headed. Has everyone forgotten where the country has been headed since President Bush has been in office?
I just want to hear some optimism people! I'm excited about our future!

I am excited for our future. I hope everything goes as smooth as Obama wants it to. It will be exciting to see what happens.
Hey this is Jim, I agree completely. And Thank You for saying that!
I've experienced the opposite. When I tell people that I voted for McCain they claim I'm racist. I actually think it's great there's a black president, I just don't agree with his socialist point of views. But I know of several people that voted for Obama because he is black. Isn't that racist because you're voting for someone based on the color of his skin? I also think there are a lot of people that will be disappointed that Obama won't be making their lives better. Not even McCain could do that. Everyone needs to be responsible for their own future and not expect a president to change anything, because that's impossible! I believe I'll be happier in Obama's presidency because I don't expect him, or any other president, to save my family.
It appears that you're living in the wrong state.
I have heard nothing but happiness and optimism regarding our new president around here.
I think he's going to do great things!
Yes Katrine!!!
You hit the nail on the head. Only time will tell how things will change. I believe in folowing the laws of the land, which I will do regardless who the President is.
I am excited for Pres. Obama to take office, here in Vermont everyone else feels the same way. It wouldn't surprise me it the election of Obama becomes a state holiday here.
But from those I know that do not live here and would have voted the other way have been crying and complaining constantly. I have been asked dozens of time why I would have voted for a socialist/communistic candidate. I have heard several suggestions of moving to another country because this one is now going to be ruled by a terrorist.
We are supposed to be patriotic no matter who our president is and part of the beauty of the American way is that we get to elect our leaders and this nation has elected this leader. We should all understand that this is what our nation decided as a collective body.
